This Moment in Time

This moment in time, this passing sand,
Falling through narrow glass,
Is a chance for rebirth, for starting afresh.
For this sand is tomorrow’s past.

This moment in time, this drop in a pond;
Concentric circles moving out,
Is pulling you away from the center
Where your thirsty soul suffers drought.

This moment in time, this blip on a line,
Rising and falling unplanned,
Is knocking you down and lifting you up
To the only safe place you can stand.

This moment in time, this sun’s arching path
Casting shadows, then giving light,
Is bringing new mercies, a chance to live,
So morning can come in the night.
This moment in time, these ticks of the clock;
One slow, while another seems fast,
Are invitations to stoop before the One
Who offers a peace that will last.

This moment in time, this beat of your heart,
Sounding a story of pain,
Is beckoning you to new place of life
Where your heart is freed of all chains.

These moments in time, this passing of age,
Holds victory even in loss.
For the Timekeeper longs to draw you in
To Easter’s hope through the cross.

Don’t miss a moment,
Karen
