“Hi! I’m Rebekah Coste, formerly Sasse. I married my best friend Jean-Christophe, who has the kindest heart and some mean cooking skills, in May 2016. We currently live in Paris, France and I work as an English teacher. I enjoy keeping up with the violin, trying new recipes, exploring the city, improving my French, and being involved in community here. Thanks for reading!”

My Favorite Recipe: One of my favorite recipes to make for a quick dinner or when entertaining company is Hawaiian Sweet Bread! I have made this for countless wedding/baby showers, bachelorettes, and it is always a hit. I think it’s because most people can’t resist the sweet/salty combination that this dish offers. And it’s easy and quick:

  1. Place King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls into glass plan (sprayed with Pam)
  2. Layer sliced ham and sliced swiss cheese on the rolls
  3. Simultaneously on the stove, bring the following ingredients to a slow boil until the texture is sticky: 1 stick butter,  1 Tbls. Teriyaki sauce,  ½ Tbls. Mustard, 1 Tbls. Brown sugar
  4. Cover with rolls with mixture.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

My Favorite Makeup: My can’t-live-without/favorite makeup is Clinique’s High Impact Curling Mascara. If I only use one form of makeup during the day, it’s mascara, and this particular one really makes your eyes pop! $17.50 isn’t too shabby a price tag, either. I do make sure to change mascara every three months (maximum). Life is too short to have goopy eyes.

My Favorite Comfort Food: Ice cream in general is my favorite food (comfort or not), but when I’m really singing the blues and need a lift, Edy’s Slow-Churned Cookie Dough Ice Cream is always there. And it’s half the fat. You can find this treat in any major grocery store.

Favorite Bible Verse:

“I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.”  Psalm 40:1-3

Favorite Cleaning Product: If you’re like me, cleaning the bathroom is my least favorite part of doing housework. I can dust and do laundry until the cows come home, but my goal when I get to the bathroom is to get in and out as fast as possible! Scrubbing Bubbles Disinfectant Bathroom Cleaner is an amazing product because it let’s me do just that! All I have to do is give a few quick sprays to those crusty vanity/toilet surfaces and then let the product sit for 5 minutes. I return to give a few wipes from my sponge (or paper towel), and voila! A glistening surface.

Your friend,
Rebekah
