His enemies tried to trap Him.
His hometown people turned their backs.
His family kept their distance,
And His authorities planned their attack.
Nowhere was He welcome.
In every place He was gossiped and shamed.
He didn’t change to fit their mold.
He didn’t try to play their game.
He knew it would be painful,
He knew no one could take His place.
He knew the twelve would abandon.
And His Father would turn His face.
He set His glory to the side.
He gave up His throne to hang on a tree.
He made Himself unwelcome.
So His Father could welcome me.
